Product Details
The Raas Leela is an important part of the traditional Manipuri culture. When the dancers perform the Raas Leela, it symbolises the spiritual love for Lord Krishna. It is one of the most important part of Manipuri classical Indian dance. Pichwai is a style of painting that originated over 400 years ago in the town of Nathdwara, near Udaipur in Rajasthan, India. Intricate and visually stunning, pichwais depict tales from Lord Krishna’s life. The word Pichwai comes from ‘pichh’ meaning back, and ‘wai’, meaning textile hanging. This is a fine detailed painting made completely by hand using a thin pointed hair brush and natural stone colors.
